What will USA skiing be like with Covid 19 / Corona virus in 2020 / 2021?

Covid 19 / Coronavirus has of course caused major disruption in all walks of life, the mountains included!

We have been asked what skiing in America will look like, for this coming ski season. Regulations are easing, but are still changing frequently, so it's hard to know exactly how things will work.

However, some of the the Australian ski resorts are open, so we can glean some good clues from them, as to how things could operate in the Northern Hemisphere this coming winter.

Vail Resorts, who own & operate many of the USA ski resorts including Breckenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek & Park City, also operates 3 ski resorts in Australia: Perisher, Hotham & Falls Creek.

Here are some of the rules & regulations they are using in Perisher to keep people safe & healthy during their ski seasons.

Things will probably evolve over the next few months, as they learn what works well & what needs to be improved & as government regulations change. It should be a good testing ground for Vail resorts, who can then apply what they've learnt to the American ski resorts for the 2020 / 2021 ski season.

We'll keep you updated as the situation changes, and as we know more, about how the USA ski resorts will be run, for the 2020 / 2021 ski season. We hope this gives you an idea though, of how the ski resorts may be able to operate, whilst prioritising the health & safety of their guests.
