2019 / 2020 Golden Peak expansion with new lift to take skiers & riders to the top of Golden Peak for an extra 760 vertical feet & 3 new ski runs.

Vail became world's first mountain resort certified as a sustainable destination in 2018.
For 2018 / 2019 ski season Vail launched "EMMA" epic mountain assistant - the app gives guests up to the minute information on the condition of the snow, what has been groomed, lift lines, parking & recommendations on where to dine, ski hire & lessons.
For 2017 / 2018 ski season the Northwoods Chair 11 upgraded to a high speed 6 passenger lift, particularly useful for speeding up the journey across Vail's front side on the way home!
Vail upgrades Sun Up lift to a new 4 passenger high speed Express lift for 2016 / 2017 to cut ride times in half when accessing the legendary Back Bowls.

The Front Side offers 127 marked runs as well as all four terrain parks. Choose to cruise down the powder-filled blues next to the Mountaintop Express or challenge yourself to the four-mile long Riva Ridge.
Blue Sky Basin offers up a whole different type of mountain experience. With trees, rocks and natural terrain everywhere, skiers & boarders can enjoy gladed runs at a variety of levels. Blue Sky Basin is filled with both intermediate & advanced runs, allowing skiers of at least mid-level ability to enjoy its unique scenery & terrain.
Vail’s Back Bowls are the stuff legends are made of. You need more than a day to explore the seven diverse bowls that stretch across six breathtaking miles. Whether it’s gliding down Poppyfields in China Bowl or making tracks on Genghis Khan, the Back Bowls offer a huge amount of terrain to challenge and satisfy the experienced skier.
