USA STILL GOOD BET FOR UK SKIERS

Despite the gloomy economic news and post-Christmas blues, there are some bright spots in the skies overhead. The snow is falling in Europe & the USA and the slopes are well and truely open for skiers and boarders.

The pound has fallen against the dollar scaring off some potential Uk travellers to the US, but the pounds has really collapsed against the Euro and with increased food prices, especially in France, European resort prices have seen a huge hike. The Euro pound-parity has meant eating lunch on the slopes or partaking in the traditional apres ski beer & cocktails in Europe is really taking its toll on the British wallet.

So the USA is an alternative to consider...With French prices nearly triple those at home (£14.50 for spag bol or £8 for chips Peter Hardy, Daily Telegraph), the $8.95 all in meal (burger, fries, drink) at Winter Park Resort, Colorado or approx. £6.50 suddenly looks pretty good value. Beers too are reasonably prices, compared to the £7 beers in some French resorts, so cost of living once you arrive in the US is definitely a bonus.
