Winter Park has just been hit with another snowstorm, dumping 12.5 inches or 32 cms on the slopes in the last 48 hours. The conditions are perfect powder, the legendary snow that Colorado is so famous for: soft, fluffy snow and mountains of it!

Winter Park Resort has the highest average snowfall of all the Colorado resorts averaging 359 inches and so far has received 405 cms or over 12 foot of snow this year.

“The Western USA is really the place to ski this year” says Helen Brown, owner of Chalets USA – an independent company running ski chalets in the US. “European resorts are suffering from lack of snow and we keep getting these big storms”.

The base at Winter Park Resort is 61 inches (155 cms) at the top and 55 inches (140 cms) mid mountain. The resort is high altitude, with the base village at 9000 ft and the Timberline lift in Parsenn Bowl reaching over 12000 feet, that's 3676 metres.
